Baby Shower Bliss!

This Saturday was a very special day-  My Baby Shower was wonderful!  We had a beautiful (perhaps a tad too warm) sunny afternoon party.  Family and friends helped celebrate the soon-to-arrive Locati baby girls and got us stocked up with lots of wonderful things for when they make their debut- from darling clothing, fun toys, gorgeous blankets, to necessities like baby monitors, diapers, gentle baby soaps, diaper creams and everything in between.
The backyard was decked out with fanciful bouquets of flowers, streamers and balloons.  There was a delicious assortment of food and the very popular sherbert punch that helped take the sting out of the hot day.  The pink feathered hat and boa were passed around from person to person as their gift was opened.  Who would have guessed that everyone looks smashing in pink feathers?!  Don’t think it’s the last time you’ll see that hat and boa.  Everyone also wore their mardi gras beads and dispensed advice to the mom-to-be (me)!  From the practical to the humorous, all of it will be taken to heart!
The "guess the size of my belly" game was fun, with everyone overestimating by at least two inches!  I guess folks were just thinking of how big I’ll be in about 8 weeks when the girls are ready to actually join us.  I’m sure many of those guesses will be right on the money then. 🙂
Thank you to Kim and Linda for hosting such a great party.  Thank you, also, to everyone who was able to attend and to the folks that couldn’t but who were with us in spirit.  It was such a special, lovely day and ranks up near our wedding as one of my favorite days.  It made the impending arrival of the girls feel so much more real.  I just hope all those offers to babysit are still redeemable once the girls arrive.
Thanks again and big hugs to all for all the lovely gifts and well wishes!  Please check out the photo album for pictures from the party.
