Victory Is Mine! Well, Sort Of

A Triumphant Event
Today was a thrilling day because after nearly a year of absolutely no exercise, and 8 weeks 2 days after my c-section, I went for a run.  Now, it had it’s high and low points… but overall, it was a stunning victory for one tired new mom.  This is an event that will be repeated, so if you see a canary yellow stroller that is only slightly smaller than a Mini Cooper go creeping by the backside of University Village or along the Burke Gilman trail, pushed by a scarlet faced woman gasping for air, be sure to say hello, because that would be me.
An Inagural Run Recap
Some of the Highlights:
  • I left the house AND was appropriately dressed in running clothes
  • The babies, thoroughly swaddled against the freezing 55 degree weather, slept through the entire thing
  • I managed to take the dog too
  • The way out was all down hill
Some of the Lowlights:
  • It was pouring rain
  • It was cold
  • It was pouring rain
  • The way back is all up hill
  • I had to pee so badly that I nearly squatted in the bushes along the Burke Gilman trail
  • I have the lung capacity of someone who has recently spent 12 weeks on bedrest

So for all the other new Twins Moms- in the immortal words of the Cowardly Lion, "Courage!" You can do it too!
