The Locati house has now moved to Orange Alert status because, as of yesterday afternoon, we have a crawler. Sofia has officially moved from the bounce and flop stage that preceeds crawling to the commando crawl. Sure- the baby gate is not yet installed, there are sharp corners, dust bunnies, and unwholesome things to chew on all over the house, but it doesn’t matter. Mobile 1 (aka Fia-roni, as her daddy calls her) is now in orbit in our house. Crawling is a genie that doesn’t go back in the bottle.
Sofia is not yet a speed demon. In fact, she crawls like she has either 1) had a mild stroke and can only use the right side of her body, or 2) she is training for military operations by crawling commando style. Her motto may become "I don’t crawl fast, I just fly low." Undoubtedly, the shakiness will disappear in the next few days and she will become a terror to parents and dozing dogs alike.
Mobile 2- Prepare to Launch
Mobile 2 (aka Addie-roo) is close behind her sister, but currently enjoys laying on her tummy and doing some kind of yoga that involves stretching your arms and legs out in frustration and then banging them on the carpet. Either that, or she’ll get into the bounce position and do that for awhile. No doubt, once she has observed Sofia’s clumsy crawl/drag, she’ll determine that she can do it with more flair and quickly follow suit.
We’ll try to get some short video clips to post. It’s pretty dang cute.
